Five Health Truths About Laroot World

ONE: We are obsessive about sourcing
What this means is, yes, we are expensive. However, it also means that absolutely every minimal ingredient in your food from us is the best version of itself. This can mean wild for fish, organic for everything else, and not skimped on quality for any reason ever.
TWO: We are gluten-free
By committing to being your solution to food as medicine we have eliminated gluten from our kitchen. We don't just offer gluten-free items, our kitchen is celiac disease-friendly. Even if you are not gluten-averse, a few days with Laroot food will align your body. We are the first ones to want you to enjoy that delicious pasta with all your heart. (As I write this I'm thinking about Bar Pitti and Il Buco for myself)
THREE: Our packaging is entirely free of plastic
This means glass and compostable cartons. Mostly glass. It's harder for us. But we know that how we do one thing is how we do everything. If we are here striving to make the best possible food for you to maximize your well being we just know we can't add microplastics to the recipe. And we are proud of not compromising on this.
FOUR: Our nutritional advisors are actual rock stars in their field
Yes, this means that you don't see new items on the menu as often as you would like. But that also means that every time you do, the knowledge from Traditional Chinese medicine (Naria Diaz Chi!), Ayurveda (Dr. Avilochan Singh), and Western nutrition (Molly Knauer) have been incorporated into the flavourful magic of Makai Brown—our genius boss of all things culinary. Very soon you will be able to order new dishes in collaboration with Maya Feller, our friend and supporter and one of the greatest nutritional voices in America. Stay tuned!
FIVE: Our portion sizes follow the "hara hachi bu" principle
It is a Japanese custom of filling yourself to be 80 percent full. Never overly full. So we do not count calories (though we absolutely have all the information you need, just message our concierge to ask), we just give you the most diverse, well-sourced, macro nutrient-rich food combinations in the portions that will perhaps make you want a little more, but that in itself is a practice of health from some of the most ancient cultures in the world.
Lots of love,
