The Story of the Tiffin

The word tiffin dates back to 18th-century India, where it meant a light midday meal. Over time, it became synonymous with the iconic stacked metal lunchbox designed to carry home-cooked food.

In Mumbai, the dabbawalas built an entire delivery system around these tiffins, transporting thousands of fresh meals to homes and places of work daily.

The tiffin became a symbol of care and thoughtfully prepared nourishment.

At Laroot World, our reusable containers carry the same spirit, food made with care, packed consciously, and filled with small-batch meals meant to be savored.

Our Love Letter to Indian Home Cooking:

Our version of daal, a dish frequently delivered within a tiffin, features slow-simmered lentils, seasonal vegetables, and warming Ayurvedic spices that come together in a dish that is grounding, simple, and deeply satisfying.

Whether you're busy at your desk, in the comfort of your home, or needing extra support during treatment, we are here for you!
